Message from the President
Mathematical Creativity and Giftedness (MCG) is an exciting topic that was overlooked in school education and in the educational research for a long time. The International Group for MCG brings together mathematics educators, mathematicians, researchers, and others who are who are inspired to nurture and support the development of mathematical creativity in all and the realization of mathematical promise and mathematical giftedness.
Our group is aimed to promote and encourage research and to develop educational practices in the field of MCG. The group supports dissemination of information on the role of teacher knowledge and teachers' education directed at realization of students' mathematical potential and developing mathematical creativity. We welcome young researchers and practitioners who join our group and suggest guidance and support in the MCG-related areas. We act to stimulate national and international collaboration of researchers and practitioners to further the aims of the Group.
Our conferences promote international collaboration between mathematics education researchers, mathematicians and practitioners and inform the educational community of research-based recommendations about effective ways of realization of mathematical potential and developing mathematical creativity. At the conferences, teachers, mathematics educators, mathematicians and researchers meet to share their experiences and insights, to learn and teach, and to enjoy gathering with new colleagues and old friends.
Our Newsletter allows MCG members, their colleagues and friends to share useful information and news about research and events associated with MCG, mathematical competitions and history of mathematics education connected to MCG, educational technologies directed at MCG and many other issues and phenomena that can promote the field.
We invite each reader of this letter to become active members of the International Group for Mathematical Creativity and Giftedness to allow advancement of students' mathematical creativity and the realization of students' mathematical potential in school and through out-of-school activities.
